Alta Faye Harvey, a life-time resident of the Haskell area, died Wednesday the 24th of August at Haskell Memorial Hospital. She was 92 years old.
Born June 25, 1924, Alta Faye Larned was the daughter of Joe and Florence (Tidwell) Larned. She graduated from Haskell High School in 1941 at the age of 16. On October 24, 1942 Alta and Jack Chelcy Harvey were united in marriage in Haskell, Texas. The Harvey’s celebrated 62 years of marriage prior to Jack passing away on December 10, 2004.
Alta was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and outside of the home she was employed by; Johnson’s Pharmacy, Cofield’s Department Store and Fout’s Dry Goods. She joined the East Side Baptist Church in 1940.
Survivors include; 2 sons, Jackie Harvey and wife Joy of Odessa, TX and Bennie Harvey and wife Connie of Haskell, TX; 1 brother Jerry Larned; 4 grandchildren; Debra Harvey, Michael Harvey, Paul Harvey and Paula Harvey Channell; great grandchildren Ava, Lilian,and Emma.
Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2016 at Willow Cemetery in Haskell, Texas with the Rev. J.C. Amburn, officiating. Alta’s family will gather for a time of visitation with friends and family Thursday, August 25th at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 S. Columbia St.) Stamford, Texas
