Karen Kaye Bruce

Karen Bounds Bruce was born May 10, 1946, in Stamford, Texas to Albert Vernon Bounds and Juanita Smith Bounds. She passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 in Arlington, TX.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at the Bethel Lutheran Church in Avoca. Interment will be in the Bethel Lutheran Cemetery.
Karen attended Stamford High School and married very young. She then married her true love, George David Bruce on April 5, 1967 in Wichita Falls, Texas. They were blessed with four children: Michael David Bruce, Stephanie Deanne Stewart, Leslie Kaye Bell and David Scott Bruce.
Karen had a sweet and captivating personality that served her well in life and business. She could proudly say that she had gotten every job that she had interviewed for. Karen progressed very rapidly in every position that she held, but motherhood was her greatest challenge and love. Her children were always first.
Karen was preceded in death by her beloved husband George, her mother, her dad, her grandmother, Lola Mae Ryan Smith, her Uncle “Pat’ Nicholson, her Aunt “Co” Nicholson and her daughter Deanne. Karen is survived by three of her children, two sisters: Shirlianne Barnhill of Arlington, Mary Jo Hinchliffe of Fort Worth, and numerous grandchildren, nephews and nieces. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donation be made in Karen’s name to the cancer organization of your choice, or to the Hospice of Wichita Falls, TX.
