John Lynn Markham

John Lynn “Bubba” Markham of Arlington, Texas passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in Arlington, TX. He was 79 years old.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2016 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel in Stamford with Dr. Jacob West officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
John was born December 26, 1936 in Stamford to the late William Clay and Elizabeth Glendenning Markham. He was reared in Stamford and was a 1955 graduate of Stamford High School. As a young man he served his country in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1963. John continued his education at Stephen F. Austin State University where he received his BBA. On September 3, 1966 John married Gerry Anne Parke in Arlington, Texas. John recently retired from the General Land Office of the State of Texas.
John was a kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and received great comfort from Dr. J. Vernon McGee’s ministry thru The Bible Radio.
Mr. Markham is survived by his wife of 49 years, Gerry Anne Markham of Arlington, TX; son, Dean Daniel Markham and wife Tracey of Dallas, TX; daughter, Christina Lynn Markham Noriega and husband Joseph of Dallas, TX; brother Glen Markham and wife Carlene of Abilene, TX; nephew, Mark Markham and wife Tammy of Lubbock, TX; niece, Gwen Damron and husband Doyle of Park City, Utah; 4 grandchildren, Gerard Markham, Blixa Markham and wife Rachel, Isabella Markham and Gabriela Noriega; great granddaughter, Alena Markham; cousins, Elsie Lesser of Topeka, Kansas and Ann Rivers of Austin, TX; father-in-law Delbert E. Parke of Arlington, TX; and a host of other relatives and friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Clay and Elizabeth Markham and his mother-in-law, Jerry Parke.
