Julian Escobedo

Julian Escobedo, 87, of Stamford passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015. Rosary services will be at 6 p.m. Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel at 807 S. Columbia, Stamford, TX. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stamford with Father Angelo Consemino officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

Julian was born February 28, 1928 in Pueblo, Colorado to Benito and Juana Salas Escobedo. As a young child he moved with his family to Stamford. Julian was a self-employed automobile mechanic for many years and was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Julian and Eva Cedillo were married in Stamford on October 26, 1947. They were married for 66 years prior to her death in 2013.

Julian is survived by 1 son: Daniel Escobedo of Stamford, TX, 2 daughters, Ida Escobedo of Irving, TX and Doris Escobedo of McKinney, TX, 1 sister, Mercedes Perez of Arlington, TX, 3 brothers, Nati Escobedo of Pflugerville, TX, Fidencio “Chief” Escobedo of Haskell, TX, and Rufino Escobedo of Austin, TX, 9 grandchildren, David Escobedo, Eugene Escobedo, Stephanie Escobedo, Angie Torres, Michael Escobedo, Pam Acosta, Trish Guerrero, Dwain Rodriguez, and Leslie Rodriguez and 10 great grandchildren and many other friends and family.

Julian was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 1 son, Sammy Escobedo, 1 daughter in law, Sylvia Escobedo, 2 sisters, Frances Alvarez and Ruby Torres, 3 brothers, Elias Escobedo, Bernardo Escobedo, and Alfred Escobedo.
