Betty Sue Cooper found peace in heaven on Wednesday, October 21, 2015. She was 59 years old.
Miss Pryor was born May 8, 1956 to Manual and Stella (Cochran) Pryor in Tulia, Texas. Betty Sue graduated from Stamford High School in 1974. She enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1974. Betty Sue worked at the Cliff House Restaurant for several years prior to her health declining. In her spare time she enjoyed reading and writing poetry.
Betty Sue was the loving wife of Herman Cooper and a devoted mother and grandmother. She was a faithful member of the Solomon Temple Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cooper is predeceased by her parents, 1 brother, Manual Pryor and 1 sister Glenda Franklin. She is survived by her husband, Herman Cooper; 1 daughter, LaQuitta Votapka; 2 sons, Joseph Pryor and Derrick Cooper; 1 step daughter, Mary Anderson; 3 stepsons, Jody Salgado, Rudy Rodriguez and wife Maria, Santiago Rodriguez and wife Melissa; 2 brothers, Ronnie Pryor and wife Rachel, Jodie Franklin and wife Diana; 11 sisters, Willa Franklin, Toney Wesley and husband Dewayne, Brenda Griggs and husband Odell, Johnnie Franklin, Mary Cox, Essie Pryor, Linda McGee and husband Curtis, Alfredda Davis and husband Victor, Mary Franklin, Stella Woodard and Debra Franklin, and 13 grandchildren.
The family will gather for visitation Saturday, October 24, 2015 from 6-7 p.m. at Tankersley Funeral Home 807 S. Columba St. Funeral Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday, October 25, 2015 at the First Baptist Church 214 N. Swenson with the Rev. Donny Massey officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
