Billie Vaughn went to her heavenly home Thursday, September 17, 2015 in Llano, Texas. She was born November 30, 1925 in Vera, Texas to Joe and Jewel Cheek. A visitation was held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Tankersley Funeral Home in Stamford, Texas . Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Henson Cemetery, the family cemetery in Red Springs, Texas.
Billie was as caring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother and friend. She was blessed to be the first of five living generations. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church in Stamford.
Those gone before her are her parents, Joe and Jewel Cheek, three sisters, Mae Anders, Winnie McCown, and Nita Greene, four brothers, W. H. Cheek, Burl Cheek, Edward Earl Cheek, and Gerald Cheek, a great grandson, Tanner Whitworth.
She is survived by 1 daughter,Connie Harris and husband, Beryl of Valley Spring, Texas, 1 granddaughter, Tamra Cotton and husband Michael of Clyde, 1 grandson, Van Whitworth and wife, Marie, of Flower Mound, 3 great granddaughters, Kara Cotton, Hannah Whitworth, and Haley Whitworth, 1 great grandson, Jarrod Cotton and 2 great great grandchildren, Chloe Cotton-Gonzales and Christian Cotton, 2 sister in laws, Vivian Cheek and Wanda Cheek and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Billie loved the Lord and her family. She had a care givers heart and enjoyed cooking and baking. She loved nature, especially beautiful flowers and animals, including her much loved Angel and Ginger.
