Betty Brueggeman entered eternal life on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Her spirit is carried on by her daughter, grandchildren, great grandchildren and an extended family of relations and friends. Those who knew Betty were blessed to learn many valuable life lessons during her 85 years. She was diversified with many talents; as a homemaker with wonderful cooking skills, working at Safeway for 18 years, to maintaining her home, yard and spending time with family, especially the great grandchildren.
Betty Jean Blackwell was born July 18, 1929 in the Plainview Community. She was the daughter of the late Claude and Pearl Blackwell. She graduated from Paint Creek High School in 1945. Betty and Curtis Brueggeman were united in marriage on December 26, 1945 in Haskell, Texas. He preceded her in death on January 6, 1980. She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter Sandra Muehlstein of Avoca; a grandson Curt Muehlstein and wife Naomi of Stamford; a granddaughter, Melinda Dunn and husband Steven of Abilene; three great grandchildren, Emily Jean, Curtis Dylan and Wesley Paul Muehlstein of Stamford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a daughter, Tammy Brueggeman, a granddaughter, Kathy Sue Muehlstein, four brothers, Monroe, Carl, Elmer and Billy Joe Blackwell, three sisters, Madlyn Capps, Frances Arend and Della Pearl Shelton, a son-in-law Gary Muehsltein.
Family and friends will gather for visitation at Tankersley Funeral Home 807 S. Columbia Stamford, Texas on Thursday, April 30, 2015 from 6-7:00 p.m. Funeral Services for Betty will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 1, 2015 at the Central Baptist Church 301 E. Moran Street, with the Rev. Bill Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
