Francisca M. Gomez

On Thursday, April 16, 2015, Francisca Gomez, passed to her home in heaven. She was 80 years old.
Francisca Moreno was born June 29, 1934 to Merced and Marta (Rios) Moreno in Robstown, Texas. She was reared and schooled in Robstown, TX. Marcello Gomez and Francisca were united in marriage on December 1, 1962 in Stamford, Texas. She worked in the food service department for the Stamford Schools and at the Russell Newman Factory for over 10 years. She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include: a daughter, Rosie Navarrette and husband Tommy of Kerrville, TX; three sons, Maurice Gomez and wife Rhonda or Sweetwater, TX, Tony Gomez and Alfred Gomez both of Stamford, TX; five sisters, Janie Moreno, Irene Garcia, Aurelia Delgado, Dominga Moreno, and Rachel Perez; six brothers, Ben Moreno, Tino Moreno, Vince Moreno, Mike Moreno, Joe Moreno, and Pete Moreno; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and one to arrive any day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Marcello, Jr., five brothers, Larry Moreno, Sr., Merced Moreno, Jr., Frank Moreno, Raul Moreno, Sylvester Moreno; two sisters, Carmen Ballesteros and Susie Vasquez.
Rosary will be Friday, April 17, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 S. Columbia). Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church with Father Angelo Consemino officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
