Martha Love Kuenstler

Martha Kuenstler, 73, lifetime resident of Stamford, Texas, went home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Thursday, December 4, 2014. She was 73 years old.

Martha’s loved ones will be receiving visitors from 6-7 p.m. Saturday, December 6, 2014 at Tankersley Funeral Home (807 S. Columbia) Stamford, Texas. Funeral Services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the First Baptist Church with Dr. Jacob West officiating. Burial will follow in Rockdale Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

Martha Love McCown was born November 5, 1941, in Stamford, Texas, to Wallace and Naomi (Evetts) McCown. She attended school at Stamford. She married Roddy Kuenstler on March 8, 1963 in Avoca, Texas. Roddy and Martha were the proud parents of Ky and Tracy.

Lovingly known to her family as “Marty” and “Nan-Nan”, she will be remembered for her devotion to her family, her love for Christmas and riding her golf cart up and down the highway. She was a member of the First Baptist Church. Martha worked as a nurse’s aide and as a special sitter for patients at Stamford Memorial Hospital, sold Avon and managed the Antique Outpost.

Left to cherish Martha’s memories are: her husband of 51 years, Roddy Kuenstler of Stamford, Texas; two sons and their wives. Ky and Leslie Kuenstler and Tracy and Jewellee Kuenstler all of Stamford, Texas; two sisters, Carol Sue Long of Greenville, Texas and Janice Kay Dodd of Justin, Texas; five grandchildren, Britni Kuenstler, Lexie Bloesch and husband Mike, Kelsie Salazar and husband Hector, Kyler Kuenstler and Yolanda Jimenez, and TJ Kuenstler; three great grandchildren, Kenzlie Salazar, Hayzlie Salazar, Beau Bloesch; a brother and sister in law, Truett and Laverne Kuenstler and her faithful companion Rusty. A host of cousins, nephews, nieces and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister-in-law, Mary Lou Sandefur.
