Sergio Baez

Sergio Baez, 55, of Fort Worth and formerly of Stamford, passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2014 in Fort Worth. Rosary services will be at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Tankersley Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Monday, November 3, 2014 at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stamford.
Sergio was born in Rockwall, Texas to Blas and Lidia Baez and moved to Stamford as a child. He lived in Stamford and attended Stamford Schools, graduating Stamford High School in 1978. Sergio worked for the Stamford American Newspaper in Stamford while in high school and many years thereafter. He was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include his parents, Blas and Lidia Baez of Stamford, 3 brothers, John Baez and wife Melinda of Midland, Blas Baez Jr. and wife Sandra of Flower Mound, and Michael Adam Baez of Stamford, 4 sisters, Teresa Santana and husband Ramiro of Hewitt, TX, Stephanie Gutierrez and husband Andres of Jarrell, TX, Alexandria Solis and husband Albert of Blanco, TX, and Greta Salazar and husband Wally of Aspermont, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Sergio was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Marie Alaniz and Lanore Castro.
