Robert Wayne Hood

Robert Wayne Hood, 61, of Stamford, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014 in Stamford, Texas. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2014 at the Elm Crest Baptist Church in Abilene, Texas. All friends and family are welcome to come and join us in his remembrance.

Robert was born in Amarillo Texas to Wesley and Dixie Hood on July 23, 1952. Robert was raised in Santa Anna, California. He attended a painter’s union school and was a master painter. He moved to Abilene with his parents and brother. Robert had worked for several different companies over the years. He was a very calm and quiet man that was very gentle, caring and thoughtful of others and would always help anyone in need. Robert had several step children that loved him very much. He had battled cancer since 2007. Robert was a very strong and determined man. He was very much in love and happy with his wife, Peggy Sue and her family. As far as Robert and Peggy Sue were concerned, they were soul mates. The love that they had for each other is what kept him going over the years with his fight with cancer. Robert will always be remembered by his family and friends, mostly by Peggy Sue. May God keep him warm and in his loving arms.

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Sue Hood of Stamford, 5 step sons, Tim Rodriguez, Anson Mehogah, David Liske II, Raymond Liske, and Robert Vanstory II, 3 step daughters, Melonie Rodriguez, Elizabeth Jimenez, and Cynthia Guajardo, and 1 brother, Dickey Lynn Hood of Abilene.
