David Tom Wells

David Tom Wells, 58, of San Angelo, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in a Dallas hospital.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 14, 2014, at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, 807 S. Columbia St., Stamford, Texas. Burial will follow at Rochester Cemetery in Haskell County, Texas. The family will be receiving friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13, 2014, at the funeral home.

David was born Aug. 28, 1955, in San Angelo, to Carl and Patricia Wells. He was a lifetime resident of San Angelo and loved to hunt and fish. He never met a stranger and was loved by all. David worked in the oilfield most of his life and owned Wells Power Tong, a casing service company. He also received his automotive technician degree from the Texas State Technical College in Sweetwater. He worked several years as an auto tech and returned to the oil field and worked for Tesco Casing service until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of the Crossroads Assembly in San Angelo, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Diann Wells of San Angelo; one son, Davey Tom Wells Jr. and wife Molly of Weatherford, Texas; two daughters, Jennifer Reiser and husband Michael of San Angelo; and Patricia Thomerson of San Angelo; step dad, Jesse Miller of San Angelo; three brothers, Claude Wells and wife Annette of Hawaii; Bill Wells and wife Ann of Midland; Gary Wells and wife Jacque of San Angelo; five sisters, Mary Webb and Naomi Nichols and husband Jeffrey of Midland, Lorraine Nichols, Connie Smith and husband Dean, and Bertie Yonan and husband Michael all of San Angelo; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Patricia Miller and Carl Wells and brother CJ Wells.
