Mary Helen Bounds Logan Winter, 79, went to be with The Lord Wednesday January 29th 2014, after an extended battle with Alzheimer's. She was born July 17th, 1934 in Stamford, Texas. She grew up in Haskell, Texas and graduated from Paint Creek High School in 1951. Mary continued her education at Hendricks Memorial School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nurse diploma. She married 1st Lieutenant Harry Don Logan November 4th, 1955. They were stationed at several locations including Edwards AFB, California where Steve was born and McCoy AFB, Florida where David was born. Capt. Logan was killed when a bird struck his aircraft while stationed at Reese AFB, Texas in 1966. Mary settled with her two sons in San Antonio, Texas and attended UTSA Nursing School to achieve a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She worked as a school nurse, and later earned her Broker’s license in Real Estate. On December 20th 1980 Mary wed retired Sergeant Major John P. Winter. They were active in commercial and residential real estate and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. Mary was a wonderful friend and grandmother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was active in Beta Sigma Phi; loved to sew, craft and paint, especially all things Christmas. Mary and John were together until his passing November 5th, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Dorris Bounds and husbands Capt. Harry Don Logan and Sergeant Major John Phillip Winter. She is survived by three sons Steve Logan (wife Joyce), David Logan (wife Gayla), Michael Winter, brother E. Eugene Bounds, sister Carolyn S. Gressett (husband Ray), grandchildren Alea Rainey (husband Joshua), Phillip Winter, Lauren Logan, Brittany Winter, Ashley Logan, Austin Winter, Darby Logan, great grandchildren Maverick Rainey, LJ Rainey and Lincoln Rainey.
