Kenneth Wayne Brown, 62, of Sagerton, went to be with his Lord on Friday, January 17, 2014. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Rule, Texas with Rev. Stephanie Gilkey officiating. Burial will follow at the Sagerton Fairview Cemetery in Haskell County under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home 807 S. Columbia, Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the church fellowship hall from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
Kenneth was born September 5, 1951 in Abilene, Texas to Bobby and Jerri (Howard) Brown. He was a 1970 graduate of Hawley High School and a lifetime resident of the area. Following graduation Kenneth worked as a self-employed paint contractor. Kenneth married Jill Lefevre August 10 1984 at Sagerton, TX. This union was blessed with four children; Brandi, Kinsey, Tully and Cade. The Brown’s made their home in Abilene until 1994 when they moved to Sagerton. Kenneth was a member of the Methodist Church in Sagerton.
Ken will always be remembered for his unconditional love for his family and friends. A few of the titles he cherished most were Dad, friend, and of course Uncle Ken. There was never a family gathering that he came to without a sack filled with candy for his numerous nieces and nephews. He often referred to himself as “the candy man”. He took great pride in that title as well. Ken’s genuine compassion for those he knew touched the lives of many and will truly be missed.
He left to cherish his memories, his wife of 29 years, Jill Lefevre Brown of Sagerton, 2 daughters, Brandi Robertson and Kinsey Brown, both of Abilene, 2 sons, Tully Brown of Hermleigh and Cade Brown of Lubbock, 1 brother, Bobby Brown Jr. and wife Vickie of Abilene, 2 sisters, Linda Shott and husband Mickey of San Angelo and Joyce Beard and husband Ronnie of Midland, his parents in law, Delbert and Joyce Lefevre of Sagerton.
