Jerry Sue Wilson

Jerry Sue Wilson, 75, of Stamford passed away Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014 at Hendricks Medical Center in Abilene. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 10, 2014 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, 807 S. Columbia, Stamford, Texas with the Rev. Jesse Morton officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.

Jerry Sue Ard was born March 10, 1938 in Corsicana to Wincy Monroe and Ethel Mae (Smitherman) Ard. Jerry graduated from school in Corsicana and resided there until moving to Stamford as an adult.

On Oct. 2, 1971 Jerry married Lloyd Everett Wilson in Stamford. Lloyd and Jerry were married for 28 years prior to his death in 1999.

Jerry worked as a nurse’s aide and caregiver, caring for others in their later years. She also worked at the Stamford Hospital in the kitchen. Jerry’s joys in life were listening to country and western music, watching her stories, game shows and wrestling on TV.

Jerry was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two brothers, James and Joe Dean Ard, and one sister, Verlene Derden.

She is survived by her sister-in-law Wanda Ard; nephews Jody Ard, Jon Allen Ard, Mike Derden, Sammy Derden, Roger Derden, James Derden, Randy Derden, Steven Derden and Arlin Joe Wilson, and a special friend to Jerry, her caregiver Jackie Cedillo
