Monty Hines Martin

Monty Hines Martin, 63, of Rule, passed away on Friday, July 5, 2013 at his residence. A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel in Stamford with Rev. Al Martin officiating.
Monty was born November 9, 1949 in Stamford to Horace Leon and Gladys May Martin. He was raised in the Rule area and graduated from Rule High School in 1968. After graduation Monty attended Cisco Junior College and McMurry University before enlisting in the United States Army. After his tour in the Army, Monty returned to the family farm in Haskell County and began farming. He was a member of the Rule Methodist Church.
He is survived by a very special friend, Nan Sublett of Rule, 1 brother, George Martin and wife Annelle of Amarillo, 1 sister, Margie Lackey of Stamford, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
