Lenora B. Young

Lenora B. Young, 87, of Stamford, passed from this world after a long illness and has gone to be with her LORD in Heaven on Tuesday, February 5, 2013. Funeral services for Lenora will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Bethel’s Christ Lutheran Church in Stamford with Pastor Teresa Davis officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
Lenora was born August 5, 1925 in Stamford to Fred and Olga Brandenberger. She was a lifetime resident of the area and graduated Stamford High School in 1943. Lenora married Jack Young on February 22, 1949 in Rotan, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1991. To this union, two daughters were born. Lenora worked for over 30 years at J. C. Penney, Anthony’s, and McDonalds Department Stores in Stamford. As a working Mom her family was a priority, and most of all she was a great wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a charter member of the Christ Lutheran Church where she served as organist, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and Vacation Bible School for many years.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Marilyn Thane and Susan Teichelman, both of Stamford, 2 grand daughters, April Nunez and husband Ismael, of Azle, TX and Amber Teichelman, 1 great granddaughter, Brenna Hitt of Azle, TX, and 1 brother Buddy Brandenberger and wife Shirley of Breckenridge.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
