Joyce Hill, 79, of Randlett, Oklahoma and formerly of Stamford, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Revs. Don Clevenger and Shannon Waters officiating. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 until 6 p.m. Joyce was born April 11, 1933 in Jones County Texas to Eugene and Iola Hughes Terrell. She grew up on the Hughes home place in New Hope and attended Stamford High School. Joyce married Jack Ray Hill on June 29, 1950. She was an Air Force wife and traveled with her husband during his career for over 20 years. After Jack retired from the Air Force, Joyce went back to school and became a dietician. She went to work for the Sky View Living Center and eventually became their food service supervisor. Joyce worked at Sky View for over 27 years before retiring. She moved to Randlett, Oklahoma in 2011 where she loved being back on a farm. Joyce was a lifetime member of the Four Square Church in Stamford. After it closed, she attended Faith Chapel in Stamford and the Oasis of God Church in Randlett, Oklahoma. Joyce’s grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life to which she was affectionately known as “Granny Grunt”. Survivors include 2 sons, James Ray Hill and wife Cara of Abilene, and David Allen Hill and wife Sharon of Randlett, Oklahoma, 1 daughter, Patricia Hill of Stamford, 24 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Charlie Terrell of Houston, and Bob Terrell and wife Laverne of Shreveport, LA. . After the death of her sister Rose, she took in and raised two of her daughters, Tammy of Alaska and Debbie of Stamford, She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 59 years, 2 daughters, Carol and Pamela, 1 son, Roy, 1 sister, and 1 grandson, Christopher.
