Pauline Polly Nehring

Polly Nehring, of Stamford, TX passed into the loving arms of her heavenly savior Saturday, January 5, 2012 at the age of 84.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, 1/8/2013 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton with Revs. Anna Robbins, Dean Quade, and Patsy Quade officiating. Burial will follow at the Old Glory Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.
Polly was born March 22, 1928 in Smithville, Texas to Adolf and Ella Muzny. Polly was raised in the Taylor, Texas area and graduated from Copeland High School in 1946, the last class graduating from Copeland. She married Leroy Nehring April 8, 1948 in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Freeport, Texas. She and Leroy moved to Stamford in 1963 from Taylor and made their home here raising their children. Polly and Leroy joined the Christ Lutheran Church when they moved to Stamford and remained there until the mid-80’s when they transferred their membership to the Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton. She taught Sunday School and vacation bible school at all the churches they attended from Taylor to Stamford to Sagerton. Polly was a beautician, owning her own shop in Taylor and Stamford from 1960 until her retirement in 1985.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Leroy Nehring of Stamford, 1 daughter, Linda Crownover and husband Rusty of Weatherford, TX, 1 son, Larry Nehring and wife Darla, of Anson, 1 sister, Evelyn Sladek of Lorena, TX, 4 grandchildren, Justin Nehring and wife Kris, Ashley Thomas and husband Kurtis, Drew Crownover, and Cory Gazaway and husband Nate, 4 great grandchildren, Ethan Nehring, Elliott Nehring, Emery Nehring, and Kinsey Thomas. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 1 sister, Ethel Muzny.
Serving as pallbearers will be Drew Crownover, Kurtis Thomas, Justin Nehring, Dean Rosenquist, Melvin Gessner, Ethan Nehring, and Cyclone Cloud.
