Donald J. Ray

Donald J. Ray, 68, of Stamford, passed from this life on Tuesday, 12/11/2012. The family will be receiving friends at Tankersley Funeral Home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Friday, with Mark Ray officiating.
Donald was born March 4, 1944 in Haskell, Texas to Fred and Mary Ray. He was raised in the area and graduated in the top 10 of his class at Paint Creek High School. He married Adah Bivins on May 15, 1964 in Haskell. Donald worked for A T & T for thirty three years retiring in 1999 in Gardendale, Texas. He was an Elder at the Eisenhower Church of Christ in Odessa for many years. He was an avid Ham Radio Operator with the call sign of N5FRN.
Survivors include his wife of over forty eight years, Adah Ray of Stamford, daughter, Sherry Wakeland and husband Chris of Maypearl, Texas, one son, Mark Ray and wife Kyla of Benton, Kentucky, one brother, Luke Ray and wife Anna of Stephenville, TX, and six grandsons, Kyle Wakeland, Daniel Wakeland, Brett Wakeland, Landon Wakeland, Matthew Ray, and Nathan Ray.
