Jimmy Green, 58, of Stamford, passed away on Wednesday,
August 15, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the First Baptist Church in Stamford with Rev. James Brigham officiating. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 5 until 7 p.m.
Jimmy was born April 17, 1954 in Knox City, Texas to Jimmy and Helen Green. They moved to Guthrie when Jimmy was just a child. He was raised and educated in Guthrie, graduating Guthrie High School in 1972. He married Beth Lawson in 1981 in Stamford. They have lived there ever since. Jimmy owned and operated the Stamford Service Station for over 28 years and also worked for GEM drilling and Ringo Drilling Companies. He was a member of the Stamford Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Beth Green of Stamford, his parents, Jimmy and Helen Green of Guthrie, 3 sons, Jamie Lynn Green and wife Tiffany of San Angelo, Joseph Haston Green and wife Selena of Austin, TX, and Bryce James Green of Stamford, 2 sisters, Debra Curd and husband Jerry of Knox City, and Karen Griffin and husband Owen of Haskell, 1 brother, Dwain Green and wife Jamie of Guthrie, and 3 grandchildren, Cheyenne Green, Lucian Green, and Cooper Fiveash.
