Clarence Raymond Teichelman, 93, of Stamford, went to his heavenly home on Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011 in Stamford. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Sagerton, TX with Parish Lay Leaders Dean and Patsy Quade officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Capron Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 p.m. on Thursday.
Clarence was born Jan. 10, 1918 in Haskell County near Bunker Hill to C.F. and Nellie Teichelman. He was a lifetime resident of the Stamford area, and received his education at Bunker Hill School. Clarence had a love for agriculture and spent his life working as a farmer. He was a member of the Farmers Coop, Faith Lutheran Church where he previously served on the council. Clarence was also a lifetime member of the Sons of Hermann Lodge at Old Glory serving as an insurance agent for several years. He was also a veteran of the United States Army and received numerous metals including the Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, American Defense Ribbon, Combat Infantryman’s Badge, and Bronze Battle Stars. On September 18, 1945 he married Rachel Klose at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Sagerton.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Phyllis Nichols and husband Raymond of Knox City, TX, Arlene Vitucci and husband Steve of Copperas Cove, TX, 1 daughter in law, Kathlene Teichelman of Sagerton, TX, 1 brother, Eugene Teichelman of Sagerton, and 1 sister, Berniece Lunn of Stamford, 7 grandchildren, Brandi Arant and husband Ken, Scotty Nichols and wife Kari, Melanie Hill and husband Brandon, Ross Teichelman, Rachel Thompson and husband James, Anna Vitucci and husband Jarret Eavenson and Nichole Vitucci, 4 great grandchildren, Logan Smith, Lacy Smith, Doty Arant, Marissa Hill and 2 on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Ronnie Teichelman, 1 infant son, Danny Ray Teichelman, 1 granddaughter, Shayla Nichols, 5 brothers, Anton Teichelman, Jessie Teichelman, twin brothers Herbert and Gilbert Teichelman and an infant brother.
