Armando Torres Jr.

Armando Torres Jr., 29, of Abilene, and formerly of Stamford, passed away on Sunday in Abilene. Rosary services will be at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011 at the Tankersley Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stamford with Father George Roney officiating. Burial will follow in the Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Armando was born March 31, 1982 in Stamford to Armando Sr. and Margaret Guerrero Torres. He was raised and educated in Stamford, graduating from Stamford High School in 2000. He moved to Abilene and was a self-employed construction contractor. Armando was very active in the martial arts, and was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife Vivian Zuniga, his mother, Margaret Gonzales and her husband Val of Clovis, New Mexico, his grandparents and adoptive parents, Solomon and Ruby Torres of Stamford, and his grandfather Eulogio Guerrero of Lubbock, Texas, 2 daughters, Ruby Margarita Torres and Anela Rose Torres, both of Abilene, 4 sisters, Belinda Gomez of Lakeview, TX, Denise Miguel of Abilene, Erica Romero and Ashley Torres, both of Clovis, New Mexico, 2 brothers, Matthew Torres of Reno, Nevada and Mark Torres of Fort Worth, and numerous other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Isadora Guerrero, his father, Armando Torres Sr., and 1 uncle, Ralph Torres.
