Everette Perry Vance

Everette Perry Vance, 75, of Stamford, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2011 in an Abilene hospital. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2011 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billie Weaver officiating. Burial will follow at the Spring Creek Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 p.m.
Everette was born April 11, 1936 in Bainbridge, Ohio to David and Kathryn Vance. He was raised and educated in Ohio and worked as a self employed mechanic for over 30 years before moving to Stamford, TX in 1978 and continuing his work as a mechanic until his retirement in 1990. Everette was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 853 in Stamford, the American Red Cross and was an instructor in First Aid courses. Everette married Carolyn Louise Tenwell on February 23, 1957 in Ohio. She preceded him in death in 1984. He later married Dona Harris on July 4, 1985.
Survivors include his wife Dona Vance of Stamford, 1 son, Ronnie Dean Vance and wife Treva of Abilene and 1 daughter, Karen Lynn Alley and husband Ray of Forest City, North Carolina, 1 sister, Virginia Beavers and husband Charles of Clyde, TX, 2 brothers, Harlan Vance and wife Linda of Clyde, and Bob Vance and wife Joy of Sabina, Ohio, 1 half brother, Larry Ging of Washington Court House, Ohio, 2 step daughters, Tammie Coffman and husband Terry of Clyde, April Caldwell and husband Lester of Stamford, 1 step son, Edward Harris of Stamford, , 2 grandchildren, Michael Everett Weissmiller and Bradley Dean Vance, 7 step grandchildren, Rebecca Elders, Heather Burge and husband Gabe, Nathan Elders and wife Nicole, Krista Kidwell and husband Ross, Cody Nutt, Shelbie Harris, and John Harris.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Carolyn, 1 brother, Harry Vance, 1 sister, Evelyn Hudnel, and 1 daughter, Kathy Jo Ann Vance.
Pallbearers will be: Lester Caldwell, Edward Harris, Ross Kidwell, Michael Weissmiller, John Beryl Harris, Cody Nutt, Bradley Vance, Nathan Elders, and Gabe Burge.
