Virginia Martinez

Virginia Martinez, 55, of Stamford, passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2011. Graveside funeral services will begin at 9:00 a.m. Friday, July 15, 2011 at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford with Father George Roney officiating and under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Virginia was born April 21, 1956 in San Juan, Texas to Jose and Maria Reyna. She married Felix Martinez in 1972 in Stamford. She was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Stamford and was a homemaker.
Survivors include: her mother, Maria Cruz of Alamo, TX, 3 sons: Ricky Martinez of Paint Creek, Felix Martinez Jr. of Abilene, and Daniel Martinez of Wilmer, Minnesota, 5 daughters, Ida Martinez and Nancy Martinez both of Haskell, Santos Martinez and husband Vicente and Gloria Ortiz and husband Jose, all of Uvalde, San Juanita Martinez of Stamford, 1 brother, Rene Reyna and wife Eva of Alamo, Texas, 3 sisters, Elida Lozano of Wilmer, Minn., Rosa Ortiz and husband Guadalupe and Santos Hernandez all of Alamo, TX. 34 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, her husband 1 brother, Jose Reyna Jr. and 1 sister, Nifa Vela.
