Dortha Mae Johnson

Dortha Mae Johnson, 84, of Stamford, passed away on Friday, May 6, 2011 at her residence. Graveside funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the Jayton Cemetery in Kent County with Wes Horn officiating and under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Dortha was born May 13, 1926 in Eastland, Texas to Milton and Matilda Butler. She graduated Girard high school in 1943. She married Ed Johnson in 1945 in Spur, TX. They moved to Brownwood, TX in 1952 and then to Coleman, TX in 1956. She and Ed moved to Stamford in 1971 and lived there the rest of their lives. She was a homemaker and a member of the Orient Street Church of Christ.
She is survived by 1 daughter, Patricia Ann Pilcher and husband Michael of Stamford, 1 grand daughter, Christina Ann Jeanette McCarty and husband Jeffrey of Abilene, 1 brother, Finis H. Butler and wife Anne of Strawn, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 63 years, and 1 son, Franklin “Eddie” Johnson.
