Jerry W. Morton

Jerry W. Morton passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 in Austin, Texas. Funeral services were held on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Fitzhugh Baptist Church in Austin, with Revs. Jerry Kelly and Jessie Morton officiating and under the direction of Harrell Funeral Homes of Dripping Springs, Texas. A second service was held on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Temple Baptist Church in Stamford. Burial followed in the Spring Creek Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home of Stamford.
Jerry was born April 18, 1948 in Stamford, Texas to J. C. and Jean Morton. Jerry was raised in Stamford and graduated Stamford High School in 1967. He managed produce departments at major grocery store chains and he worked with Alan Rossing at Lakota Water Company installing large rainwater systems. Jerry enjoyed working with his hands and building anything his children desired. His life was about family. When anyone had a conversation with him, he would always mention his love for his Lord and Savior, his parents and his children. Jerry was a longtime member of the Fitzhugh Baptist Church where he enjoyed the music and fellowship with his friends and he also enjoyed his opportunities to serve.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established at Pioneer Bank in Dripping Springs, Texas. Donations will be used for the needs of his dependent children.
