During the intervening years, the couple made many friends throughout the area. They were avid golfers and bridge players, playing in many tournaments. In 1962, Louise was named the Hostess for the Texas Cowboy Reunion. She enjoyed attending hostess luncheons and other reunion activities in the years thereafter. She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ and treasured her extended family of the Orient Street Church in Stamford.
