Stanley David Mckeever

Stanley McKeever, 94, a long-time resident of the Stamford area died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Stamford Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 12, 1916 in Shackelford County, Texas, to the late Joe and Fannie Lee Gillespie McKeever. He was educated in the Berryhill and Stamford schools, graduating from Stamford High School in 1936.
November 17, 1940 he was married to the former Margaret Jane Reves in Avoca, Texas. To this union two children were born.
Mr. McKeever was self employed in real estate, ranching and the oil business. He was a member of the St. John’s United Methodist Church.
He leaves his beloved wife of 70 years, Jane; one son Keith McKeever and his wife Deanna of Temple, Texas; one daughter Karen Roberson and her husband Bill of Dimmitt, TX; five grandchildren, Austin McKeever and wife Danielle, Emily Roberson, Josh McKeever, Allison Roberson Newton and husband Dagon and Ashley McKeever; 4 great grandchildren, Corinne McKeever, Reese McKeever, Korden Newton, and Ellie Barclay, one brother Billy Joe McKeever and his wife Beth of Stamford, TX and several other relatives and a host of friends.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leo McKeever and Wilbur McKeever and two sisters, Nona Irene McKeever and Retha May Ivy.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at St. John’s United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Erwin officiating. Burial will follow at Rockdale Cemetery under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 until 7 p.m.
