Alvin L. Gardner, born August 24, 1976 in Stamford Texas, Jones County, USA to Curtis L. Proby, Sr and Debra J Gardner (Love) who both proceeded him in death. Alvin was the third born of three sons, being preceeded in death by his brother Christopher O’Neal Gardner, leaving his eldest brother Johnny Birdsong-Gardner to morn his death. His daughter Felicia Bolding, and one son Hadrian. Alvin was proceeded in death by his maternal grandparents Jim and Lillie Gardner, Charlie Marsh and Eula L Gardner. His great aunts and uncles, Thelma Clay, Deloris Williams, Dorothy Johnson, Virginia Fletcher, Lillie F Gardner, Delmar Ford, Tommy Collins, Wendell Gardner, Edward Gardner, Sr. His aunt Beverly Ross, Omecia and Amy Branch, and his Uncle Ray Ennis.
Alvin was reared in Stamford, Texas by his late maternal Grand Mother Eula L. Gardner, with the assistance of his cousin Cynthia R Wells. Alvin’s formative education was through Stamford ISD, but received his high school certificate of completion from Hobbs Alternative Education Co-Op in Hobbs, Texas with a horticulture certificate. Alvin received Jesus as his personal Savior at an early age, adhering to the doctrine, belief and practice of the African Methodist Episcopal Church at Sims Chapel AME, Stamford Texas. Alvin worked as a fork lift driver, but later found his passion detailing cars personalizing his service.
Alvin had a virtue for life, gentle spirit, larger than life personality who never met a stranger, vernacular world view, entrepreneurial spirit and audacious in multiple disciplines and excellent storyteller which made him uniquely him!
Alvin leaves to cherish his memory Step Father Lewis Love, two great-aunts: Jimmie Gray, Alamogordo, New Mexico, Catherin Davis, Billie June Giddings, Dallas, Texas; Sandra Kaye Fields, Grand Prairie, Texas; Ray Gene Gardner, Wichita Falls, Texas; Willie Faye Ennis, Midland, Texas; Patty Gardner, Abilene, Texas; Mary Ennis, Odessa, Texas. The family of the late Alfonzo Johnson: Belinda, Connie, Cynthia, Patricia, Alton, Steven and cousins. Don and Era Mays and the Delce, Pryor, and Applin Families. His cousins Dorsey Williams, Yolanda Giddings, Tyrea Nolley, Micheal T Gardner, brothers in life Robert Delce aka Unk, Darrel Willis, Charles Pryor, NFS brothers, a host of nephews and nieces, The Family of Curtis Proby, Sr. of Hobbs, New Mexico, a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the House of God Church in Stamford. Burial will follow at the Highland Memorial Cemetery in Stamford under the direction of Tankersley Funeral Home.
