Carolyn Ford, 73, of Stamford, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel at 807 S. Columbia, Stamford, Texas with Rev. Jessie Morton officiating,
The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Monday from 6 until 8 p.m.
Carolyn was born November 23, 1941 in Anson, Texas to Neely and Lilly Imogene Summers. She lived in the Anson-Stamford area all her life and attended school in Stamford. Carolyn married Jessie Ford on October 19, 1967 in Stamford. She was a Baptist, a homemaker and helped her husband Jessie in their local business, Ford’s Small Engine repairs, including working on lawn mowers. Carolyn loved arts and crafts and all types of wood working, including doing as much as putting siding on their home, and adding shutters.
Carolyn is survived by her husband of 47 years, Jessie Ford of Stamford. 3 daughters, Karen Wilson and husband Kenneth of Glen Rose, Texas, Carol Lackey of Anson, Texas, and Gayla Pendergraft and husband Dana of Avoca, Texas, 1 step son, Carl Ford of Winnsboro, Texas,1 sister, Ima Gray of Celina, Kansas, 1 brother, Gerald Summers and wife Sharyle of Springtown, Texas, 6 grandchildren Whitney Edwards and husband Josh, Casey Lofton, Dustin Ford, Krystin Lackey, Shae Lackey, and Jessica Pendegraft,4 step grandchildren, Kevin Ford and wife Gaylynn , Kerri Rinlee and husband Lynn, Billie Ann Young and husband Tommy, and Brent Ray Brewer, 3 great grandchildren, Logan Don Santos and Lyla Grace Santos and Alaysyaha-Marie Baker,4 step great Grandchildren, Cody Ford, Justin Ford, Casey Stiewert and Jordan Stiewert. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Eddie Ford, 1 grand daughter, Amy Lynn Ford, and 1 step daughter, Karen Brewer.
